THE MEDICATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (M.A.P.) was created to assist individuals who are unable to afford necessary medications and who meet financial qualifications to obtain FREE medications. You are not required to be a registered patient at the Clinic or a resident of Orange County.
How it works: Most brand name pharmaceutical companies offer Patient Assistance Programs which provide free prescriptions for income-eligible individuals. Each Company , however, has its own application, eligibility criteria, and application process.
Through a grant from RxRelief VA through the Virginia Health Care Foundation and other funding, we have two Medication Assistance Caseworkers, certified as Pharmacy Technicians who have access to The Pharmacy Connection software to help you find and apply for the patient assistance programs that can help cover prescriptions.
Eligibility varies according to the medications requested. To participate you must be over age 18 with no prescription drug coverage. Some individuals with Medicare coverage may be eligible if their medications are not covered.
Documents:
You will need to provide documents showing proof of income for your household (income tax statements, paycheck stubs for the last four weeks of employment, letter of determination from Social Security or Social Services stating all benefits, pension verification or unemployment verification, etc.) You will also need all medication bottles.
Physician:
We will contact your physician for the necessary prescriptions after the application process is complete. Free Clinic Patients benefit from this service as well.
Medication:
Your medication will be delivered to your physician’s office who will contact you to pick it up. Some medications may be delivered to the patient’s home.
Enrollment:
Please stop by our office to enroll for this free services. The MAP is not limited to Orange County residents.
